There are many different online bill organizer programs available. The two most popular names for computerized financial organization are Quicken and Microsoft Money but these are by far not the only ones. There are plenty of advantages to using online bill organizers instead of paper organizers. First, viewing and paying your bills online whenever possible saves paper which is good for the environment. With all the emphasis on 'going green' many companies are encouraging their customers to view account information and make payments online.

If you are someone who pays most or all of your expenses online, then you definitely need an online organizational solution. Many of these programs have month by month spreadsheets where you can fill in the name of the bill you are paying, the amount due, the due date, the amount paid and the date paid, in addition to any confirmation number you may receive. A feature you may find especially useful is that of automatic notifications. Some programs will alert you when it is time to pay a bill based on the information you've entered.

There are software programs that you can buy anywhere computer software is sold. These programs come with a disk that must be installed before the programs can be used. Then there are programs that are actually accessible online. Some of them require a download, others do not. There are free programs and programs you have to pay for. Your best bet is to do some research and investigation to find the online program that has the features you need most. If you run a home business you may need a more sophisticated program, but if you just want something for tracking household bills a simple and inexpensive program should work just fine.

You can even make your own online bill organizer. With a free program like Google Spreadsheets, everything can be done right on the Internet. When creating a financial management spreadsheet you may want to make categories like description, account number, due date, amount owed, date paid and amount paid. You might also want to leave room for notes or payment confirmation numbers. There are a wide variety of Internet resources for those who want to organize their finances more efficiently, so you might as well make good use of them.
