If you need help keeping track of your bills, monthly bill organizers are the way to go. The average desk top style bill organizer has 31 slots, one for each day of the month. These slots are numbered to correspond with the date. They come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. There are sleek black organizers, traditional wood finish organizers and even those that are cylinder shaped and easily rotate to the day you need to access. Before you go out and buy one of these organizers, you should learn a bit more about how they are used and what advantages they offer.

One thing these organizers do for you is take your mail and make it easier to deal with. If you're like most people, you get mail six days per week. There may be some junk to toss however you probably also have a variety of bills and invoices that arrive. Rather than just putting them in a pile on your desk, file them appropriately according to due date. One thing you should remember is that if you are mailing a bill payment it should be filed far enough ahead to allow for mailing time. Even if you do receive paper bills, it may be possible to pay them online which means you may not have to allow for extra time.

Bill organizers also help you keep track of to-do lists and birthdays. For example, if you have plans on a certain date you can put a note in the appropriate slot to remind yourself. Or if there is a birthday coming up you can buy the card in advance and put it in the right slot so you won't forget to send it. There are many different ways to use bill organizers, some people may even use them for filing coupons as well.

Monthly bill organizers can be purchased in office supply stores like Staples and Office Depot. You can also order them from the Internet. If you want an online bill organizer categorized by month, check out the various software programs available. These programs can also be found at office supply stores or computer software stores. Some even offer immediate downloads which means you can purchase, implement and begin using your new program right away.
